Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is expected to be sidelined between eight to ten weeks after suffering a knee ligament rupture.
The 21-year-old left a training session with France on Wednesday after suffering a knee problem and underwent initial examinations with national team doctors and Real Madrid specialists.

An MRI scan at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training ground on Friday confirmed the extent of the injury.
A Real Madrid statement read: “After the tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with a rupture of the external lateral ligament in his right knee.”
The injury is expected to keep him out until the new year, meaning he will miss Real Madrid’s final two Champions League group stage games against Napoli and Union Berlin. He will also face a race to be fit for the Spanish Super Cup, which takes place in Saudi Arabia between January 10-14.
Camavinga, who has made 17 appearances in all competitions for his club so far this season, recently signed a new deal with Real Madrid until 2029.
He is the latest Real Madrid player to be sidelined, after Vincius Junior was forced off during Brazil’s defeat to Colombia on Thursday with what appeared to be another hamstring injury. The 23-year-old was sidelined for a month with a similar issue at the start of the season, and he confirmed it was “unlikely” he would be available for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier against Argentina.
Team-mate Jude Bellingham also withdrew from the England squad for November’s international fixtures due to a shoulder injury which had ruled him out of Real Madrid’s La Liga fixture against Valencia before the break.
Arda Guler is yet to feature following his summer move from Fenerbahce due to a series of injuries, Kepa Arrizabalaga has missed his side’s last two after picking up an injury in the warm-up ahead of the Champions League group stage fixture against Braga and Aurelien Tchouameni is also out with a foot problem. Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao remain long-term absentees.
Real Madrid return to action next Sunday with a trip to Cadiz.
